M.Sc. Programme in Chemistry

The M.Sc programme is spread over four semesters of which three are common and fourth one has specialization in the form of three branches viz Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry.
The department is running 36 courses of study for M.Sc. programme upto 3rd Semester level comprising 18 core courses in Chemistry and related courses in Biology, Mathematics, environmental Sciences, Computer Applications & 18 specialized courses, 06 each in three specializations. All the courses are strictly in accordance with national UGC curriculum. In addition, the final semester students also have a seminar lecture as one of the core courses in which they are required to submit to undertake an academic tour to different centres of excellence in the country to get themselves acquainted with the latest trends in the subject. Besides these academic courses the department also provides admission to the research programmes like M.Phil, Ph.D and research projects for which scholars are admitted after clearing the NET / entrance test conducted by the University for the purpose.
